A Walk to Remember...

Psalm 139:14
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

I know that scripture pertains to us as human beings, but sometimes it can be applied to how amazing things & places in this world are... how breathtaking... how immense... how stupefying...

Last week, I got to see the Grand Canyon - again... but it was like the first time... I was a child the first time and I honestly don't remember it at all. This time, though, I had my favorite person by my side, holding my hand and we soaked it all in together.

I got to scramble out to ledges and peer over them into the expanse that was easily a sheer drop of a mile - straight down. Not for the faint of heart, my friends, but worth every second if you ever get the chance. This was EASILY the highlight of the trip.


We rented a convertible mustang, affectionately named "Zyppy"... (His license plate had "ZYP" in it... thus the name...) and drove 4.5 hours one way with the top down most of the time... I of course was as bundled up as I could be and even had to ask Blake to turn on the heater a few times... okay a LOT of the time... Blake got to be "That Guy" in the car... hat on backwards... drivin' like he stole it... haha... speed limit is 75 in Arizona and people were FLYING by us. Crazy... It was an absolute blast. (Photo below is actually at Lake Mead, after our Hoover Dam day... that will take another post, but ya kinda had to meet Zyppy...)

I just can't even tell you how freakin' cool this place was. I'm gonna stop typin' and start adding photos/videos. It's the best way to describe it. :o) Enjoy!!!


That's within the first few minutes of us being there. As you will likely see, Blake's a better videographer than I am! But it's tough to video when you're 2 inches from the edge of an outcropping of rocks that I had to scramble to in the first place !!! :-) But ooohh so worth it. I even got to take pics of this cute little lizard guy while I was down there.





Turns out Blake wasn't too thrilled with my little "off the path" excursion, but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. Got him out with me in another spot before we left though...

We had a close call guys... we just almost lost him! HAHA!
